Everything you need for a comfortable stay

cabin with hot tub
treehouse for rent

Since we have little ones, we know that packing for a vacation can sometimes be a chore. To ease your burden, we provide children's plates and cups, a high chair, pack n play (please bring your own sheets), child's potty seat, step stools for the bathrooms, and one booster seat.

The propane grill and propane are provided for your use.

Our fire pit, surrounded by long benches, is perfect for any size group to enjoy. We provide a large amount of wood, but since we can’t guarantee it’s been kept dry by previous renters, you might want to bring your own or purchase some from local vendors. You’re also welcome to gather fallen sticks and branches from the woods.

In cooler months, the wood stove quickly warms up the cabin, creating a cozy atmosphere. We provide a few seasoned logs to get you started. Additional wood is available for purchase from vendors on your way into town—just 3-4 pieces will keep the warmth going for hours.

Enjoy some friendly competition with our foosball table or full-sized custom pool table!

No stranger to large groups, the fully-equipped kitchen is an entertainer’s dream with plenty of counter space, 2 sinks, Wolf gas stove with 4 burners and center griddle, dishwasher, microwave and large refrigerator with ice maker (bring extra for large groups), wine drawer and bottom freezer.

We have all the essentials and many "nice to have's": keurig and coffee maker (bring your own coffee), coffee grinder, crock pot, toaster, large toaster oven, pots and pans, tea kettle, roasting pan, baking sheets, blender, mixing bowls, cooking and steak knives, colander, measuring cups, tupperware, pie pans, tableware, and even children's plates and cups. Whatever you need, we probably have, so just ask!

Other items we include: dish soap, dishwasher detergent, dish towels, sponge, garbage bags, cleaning supplies. You will likely find items such as spices, salt, pepper, oil, condiments, sandwich bags, plastic wrap & tin foil, but we cannot guarantee this so if you know you have a specific need or are packing sandwiches or lunches daily, please bring your own.

Get ready for fun for all ages, making this the perfect spot for family friendly vacations! In addition to the foosball and pool tables, we’ve got a great selection of classic board games, puzzles, books, and toys for the little ones. Love sports? Enjoy our basketball court with an adjustable hoop, plus basketballs, soccer balls, and footballs for outdoor play. And when it’s time for water or winter fun, we’ve got a ton of beach toys and sledding gear waiting for you in the basement—just ask for access! And don't forget to check out the details about our treehouse!

Doesn't everyone love a cabin with hot tub? What makes ours extra special is its location on the back deck, under a stunning starry sky. It's the perfect way to unwind after a day of adventure. Note: Available only from Labor Day to May 31. Please bring your own towels, and flip-flops are recommended for access in and out since the hot tub is not covered. If it snows during your stay, kindly clear the snow off the hot tub cover before use.

We think good sleep is key on a vacation so all of our King/Queen beds are memory foam with a soft and firm pillow for each guest to choose from. (Full and twin beds have one pillow per guest). The bed linens are high quality, high thread count, 100% breathable cotton and every bedroom has room darkening blinds and/or curtains for sleeping in. For better quality sleep, we keep the bedrooms cooler, but for those who need it, we provide thick wool or fleece blankets for snuggling up so everyone is at a happy temperature.

We also provide 1 hand towel and hand soap for each bathroom, a bar of soap in each shower and one bath towel and wash cloth per guest. Please bring your own towel for beach/hot tub use. For guests staying longer than three days, laundry detergent is provided to freshen up towels.

We provide septic-safe toilet paper, napkins, and 1 large roll of paper towels for 3 night stays, 2 for longer stays. (We strive to be climate-friendly and aim for reusable products when possible so please bring more if you are a person who uses a lot of paper towels as opposed to hand towels or sponges).

We have radiant heat, which offers a cozy, consistent warmth that fills the cabin evenly, keeping you comfortable from the ground up—perfect for those cold, wintry days. The warmth feels natural and relaxing, unlike the dry, circulating heat from traditional systems. Plus, it’s silent, so you won’t hear any noisy vents, and it helps keep the air clean by reducing the circulation of dust and allergens. And the laundry room radiant floors are the perfect place to dry your wet ski gear at the end of the day!

We know how tricky it can be to travel with all your gear, so we've made sure there's plenty of space to store everything here. Each bedroom has a suitcase bench, closet, and/or dresser for your things. The kitchen has a big fridge and plenty of cupboard space for your food. The mudroom is a great spot for coats, boots, hats, and gloves, with additional storage in the nearby laundry room. Plus, the radiant heat in the laundry room floor is perfect for drying wet ski or sledding clothes. Just a heads-up—please leave your skis and poles on the front porch.

Dive into fun at our amazing pond, 14 feet deep with a thrilling drop-off to 6-8 feet right off the end of the dock! Fed by a fresh spring, it’s perfect for swimming all summer long. We’ve got plenty of floats, water toys, and even a few kiddy life vests for the whole family to enjoy—just ask us or the caretaker for access!

Fish, frogs, and the occasional turtle are regular pond companions, and if you toss some bread into the water in the morning or evening, you’ll get a front-row seat to the fish feeding frenzy. Don’t worry, they won’t bother you while you swim! A majestic Blue Heron also makes regular appearances to fish, and if you're into angling, you can fish too—though only the heron has been successful so far!

Imagine your kids living their best lives in their very own treehouse! This whimsical hideaway is the perfect spot for them to unleash their creativity, whether they’re pretending to be pirates, explorers, or superheroes. Surrounded by forest all around, they’ll have endless opportunities to explore, build forts, and let their imaginations run wild. It’s more than just a treehouse—it’s a place where childhood memories are made, and every moment is filled with fun and discovery!

A washer and dryer with some laundry detergent are provided as convenience to dry wet clothing or launder guest “spills”. It can also be used for freshening bed linens or towels during an extended stay.

Perfect for Family Movie Night or the big game, a 65” TV is located in the Living Room room with Roku, streaming apps (using your own log in) and a DVD Player with a few DVD's.

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Our Family

Heron Pond Hideaway is a family-owned and operated Adirondack vacation rental. Our large family spans four generations and stretches across the whole country, but we always make it a point to gather for a family reunion at least once a year. We can’t always fit everyone in at once, but we sure try!

Scott and Shannon, our New York locals, take care of managing and maintaining the property, with the help of Ronnie and Kelly, our amazing caretakers who live in the carriage house on-site. Over the years, we’ve created countless cherished memories here with family and friends, and we’re so excited to share this special place with others so they can create their own lasting memories!
